Disneyland in Hong Kong!

Yesterday I was finally able to go to Disneyland in Hong Kong! The place was not extremely big, but I would say it would take about two days to go through every ride and exhibit here. The Disneyland here is broken up into 7 parts:

  • Main Street
  • Tomorrow Land
  • Fantasy Land
  • Adventure Land
  • Grizzly Gulch
  • Mystic Point
  • Toy Story Land
To get to Disneyland, we had to take the MTR and transfer onto the Disneyland Resort Line, which was very cute with the Mickey Mouse - shaped windows.
After we got off this train, we had to walk about 5 minutes to finally get to the entrance gates.
Once we got in, my two cousins (Calvin and Brian) and I HAD to get ourselves one of these!
I felt like a little boy again! I was Pluto, Calvin (middle) was Goofy, and Brian (right) was Donald.
Once you walk in, the first area is Main Street, which follows an American town design. They even added a Monsters University Diner. As you can see below, this main strip is full of souvenir stores and restaurants.
At the end of Main Street, it breaks into 3 routes: Tomorrow Land, Fantasy Land, and Adventure Land. So we went to Tomorrow Land first because we wanted to ride Space Mountain! The ride was fun; I was yelling the entire team! Tomorrow Land followed a Buzz Lightyear theme, so we also played Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. For this ride, you sit on a cart and shoot as many targets possible to see who gets the most points. Not that you get any prize at the end...but uhh...ya, no prize at the end.

Maybe I'm getting old for these roller coasters, but we had to take a break haha, so we went to eat!
The food here was expensive! It was 60 HKD (~$8) for just a burger, and another 26 HKD (~$3) for a drink.
Next, we went to Adventure Land! This part followed a Tarzan and jungle theme.

We even went on their Jungle River Cruise that circled around Tarzan's treehouse. The boat ride was broken up into 2 lines: Chinese speakers or English Speakers. Waiting in line was ridiculous; for the Chinese one the wait time was 30 minutes. As for the english speakers line, the wait time was only 5 minutes.
After the boat ride, we walked into Grizzly Gulch. The wait for the Runaway Mine Cars ride was too long, so we walked through this area taking pictures.

Wait time was 30 minutes! Ridiculous!

From Grizzly Gulch, it leads into Mystic Point. There are two main exhibits here: Mystic Manor and Garden of Wonders. The wait for these were almost 1 hour per! So we just walked through and took pictures.
Next after Mystic Point is Toy Story Land! We did not have enough time to try the RC Racers which is a halfpipe coaster ride, but I did try the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop. This was like a jumpin' Jellyfish ride...not as scary as I thought.

And our last destination...Fantasy Land!

Here we went to watch Mickey's PhilharMagic (a 4D experience). I thought this was going to be very childish...I actually enjoyed it a lot! They blow air and splash water at you.
Ya...pretty dangerous if you fall...
To finish off our day, we wanted to go on one last ride...Space Mountain one more time! But then, it started to pour like the Manoa Showers at UH. So...
The Cinderella Carousal was the closest ride we could get to without getting drenched.
Best ride ever!

Highlight of These Past 2 Weeks

July 8 - 10
I went to Macau with my relatives! This was a perfect weekend of relaxing. The ferry ride was a little over one hour, and costed $130 HKD. We stayed at the Galaxy hotel for three days and two nights.

For our first night dinner, we had a buffet at Festiva inside the hotel. Although dinner did not start until 6:00pm, we had to start lining up at 5:00pm to beat the long line waiting. For our second day, we spent the whole daytime at their pool. They had two jacuzzis and a artificial wave pool. We then took the bus out to the central area to have dinner at a Portuguese restaurant, and then walked around at night.

Lazy Days in Hong Kong...

Hey! For the past two weeks I've been doing a lot, so I did not have the chance to post. So...what have I been doing?
My daily routine has been:
  • Wake up at 1pm
  • Eat, while watching TV
  • Take a nap
  • Dinner
  • Watch TV
  • Sleep
So today I'm going to change all of that! I woke up at 9:30am today and got dressed to jog before breakfast.
This is today's weather!
Hooray...
So...back to my usual routine...

Afterschool in Hong Kong!

The past few days in Hong Kong have mainly been spent with my relatives, so I haven't been going to tourist attractions. But last night, I went with my cousins and their friends to the "1st fans meeting in Hong Kong" of Afterschool, which is a Korean girl group. This was my first time attending these fan meetings, and apparently we're called playgirls...But overall, the experience was great! I don't usually listen to Korean songs, but after last night I'm starting to like it more. Aside from singing, they had small mini-games where each member selected someone from the crowd to partner up with them.
